Daughtry performs "No Surprise" on 'America's Got Talent'

Daughtry yesterday visited the set of NBC's hit summer series America's Got Talent earlier in the day to tape a performance of "No Suprise," which aired last night. Watch the performance below:

The band was conveniently in Los Angeles to play a show at the Henry Fonda Theatre. After the performance, Talent judge David Hasselhoff told Chris he's a big fan, according to Chris' Twitter:

The Hoff just told me he was a HUGE Daughtry fan! My life is officially complete. about 17 hours ago from TwitterFon

Simon makes $22k a minute...

File this under information that did not need to be made public during a worldwide financial crisis. At this point, it seems that Simon really does enjoy sitting with Paula and Randy (and now Kara) twice/three times a week for three months of the year, because he sure does not need the money.

Everyone's favorite quitter, Nigel Lythgoe, let it slip during a speaking engagement at the Australian Commercial Radio Conference on Friday that Simon makes "something like $22k a minute." Yeah. That comes to a total of an annual total of $36 million from FOX alone, nevermind factoring in his earnings from producing shows like X-Factor and America's/Britain's Got Talent and his position as a producer/manager. Randy and Paula? Seven-figure sums for those two.

Nigel further burned his bridge with Idol during the event by placing Simon on a pedestal while taking digs at Paula and Randy. Even though he is much more important than the latter two, is that really the behavior Nigel should be engaging in? Looks like someone's jealous, considering the real reason Nigel left was reportedly an agreement on his contract, or lack thereof. Translation: Simon makes more than he does.

In last week's poll of the week, IDOL LIVE readers chose Kelly Clarkson as the fourth judge of choice from an assortment of eight qualified female possible alternatives to Kara DioGuardi. Kelly was the lone Idol alum represented in the poll and walked away with 23 votes (29%). She was closely followed by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, who has served as a guest celebrity judge in seasons past. Warren received 18 votes, good for 23% of the total take.

America's Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne and former diva Whitney Houston tied for third with 10 votes (12%) and Mandy Moore was close behind with nine votes (11%). Jewel and Brandy failed to excite readers, as they received four and one vote(s), respectively.
