Poll of the week: Ramiele Malubay lullabies her fellow Top 9 finishers

Once again there was not a ton of interest in the selection of alums pitted against each other as 9th-place finalists received very few votes in the latest round of IDOL LIVE's 2010 edition of the poll of the week champion series.

Pulling out in front was Season 7's Ramiele Malubay, who nabbed 33% of all 24 votes cast, which came out to eight whole votes for the singer of Filipina descent. These eight votes were enough to put Ramiele comfortably ahead of the next best finisher, as Megan Joy of Season 8 only managed five votes (20%), followed by Mandisa of Season 5 with her four votes (16%).

Other than those mentioned above, there wasn't much else to sing about regarding this week's results. In the next round, readers will be asked which 8th-place finalist is their favorite of all nine seasons. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

Jim Verraros 0 (0%)
Corey Clark 0 (0%)
Camile Velasco 2 (8%)
Nikko Smith 0 (0%)
Mandisa 4 (16%)
Gina Glocksen 2 (8%)
Ramiele Malubay 8 (33%)
Megan Joy 5 (20%)
Andrew Garcia 3 (12%)

David Cook performs "Heroes" and "Declaration" at 2009 Home Run Derby

David Cook took to the stage in the middle of the outfield at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo., prior to the 2009 Home Run Derby, part of Major League Baseball's "All-Star Week." He performed "Heroes" and "Declaration," the latter of which can be watched below:

While "Heroes" aired on the MLB Network, "Declaration" was shown on ESPN and received the larger audience.

The event's entertainment was announced via a press release that was made public on Thurs., July 9. Also in attendance was Nikko Smith, as the fourth season's 9th-place finalist and son of St. Louis Cardinals legend Ozzie Smith sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to the derby.

Poll of the week: Ramiele takes the 9th-place prize no contest

For the third week in a row, a Season 7 alum has been deemed the winner of the IDOL LIVE poll of the week for its championship series. This comes as a bit of a surprise, especially considering the strength of Megan Joy Corkrey's fan presence in polls held during the most recent season.

Ramiele Malubay led things off with 33 votes, good for 50% of the entire take for this round. Megan was up next with 15 votes (23%), which was a little bit weaker than expected as noted above. The only other alum worth mentioning is Mandisa, whose nine votes earned her 13% of the poll's total.

In the next installment of IDOL LIVE's poll of the week champion series, readers are asked which 8th-place finalist is their favorite of all eight seasons. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

Jim Verraros 0 (0%)
Corey Clark 0 (0%)
Camile Velasco 2 (3%)
Nikko Smith 1 (1%)
Mandisa 9 (13%)
Gina Glocksen 5 (7%)

Poll of the week: Carrie has 'Some Hearts' voting

In the fourth installment of the debut album champion series for the IDOL LIVE poll of the week, Carrie Underwood's Some Hearts unsurprisingly placed first among the eight albums from Season 4 alums included in the poll.

Some Hearts staved off tough competition from Mario Vazquez's self-titled album, netting 19 votes (43%) compared to the latter's 17 votes (38%). Mario's single "Gallery" was a huge hit on Pop radio in 2006, which explains the former Top 12 drop-out's strong effort in this poll.

Bo Bice dropped a spot from where he placed on the fourth season, as his debut album The Real Thing took home five toes, good for 11% of the total vote, and came in third. The only other Season 4 alum to receive more than one vote was semifinalist Celena Rae, whose Invisible Woman received two votes (4%).

In this week's poll of the week, readers will be asked to vote for their favorite debut album from a Season 5 alum. You have exactly one week to vote.

Some Hearts (Carrie Underwood) 19 (43%)
The Real Thing (Bo Bice) 5 (11%)
My Struggle (Vonzell Solomon) 0 (0%)
Constantine (Constantine Maroulis) 1 (2%)
Revolution (Nikko Smith) 0 (0%)
Mario Vazquez (Mario Vazquez) 17 (38%)
Invisible Woman (Celena Rae) 2 (4%)
All That I Am (Jared Yates) 0 (0%)
