As if the Idol connection to the new Renée Zellweger/Harry Connick, Jr. picture New In Town could not get any stronger, it reportedly features music by a second winner (in addition to a runner-up).
Carrie Underwood's "That's Where It Is" plays in the background at the end of the film, which marks the second time one of her songs is played at the end of a movie (the first being "Ever Ever After" in Disney's Enchanted back in 2007).
New In Town previously used David Archuleta's "Crush" and Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" in its TV spots. So at least there's a reason to go see the romantic comedy if you're a Carrie fan.

'New in Town' TV spots use music by Kelly, Arch
Lionsgate must really like them some Idol tunes. The studio has been featuring music by Kelly Clarkson and David Archuleta in its TV spots for New in Town. The romantic comedy, which stars Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr., includes a clip of Kelly's "Breakaway" in some spots while other spots play Arch's "Crush" in the background.
