'Idol' odds 'n ends: Performances for Carrie, Jennifer at Grammys

The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:

>It was announced earlier this week that Carrie Underwood would be performing "Last Name" and Jennifer Hudson would be performing "You Pulled Me Through" at the 51st annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. Carrie is nominated for one award, while Jennifer is nominated for three.

>Elliott Yamin appeared in a video on YouTube with KISS FM's JoJo where he did an impromptu 20-second performance of his upcoming single "Fight for Love." Watch the video below:



Elliott also said the single will hit radio on Tues., March 10.

>Michael Johns performed "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at ESPN's "Next Big Weekend 2009" on Sat., Jan. 31, in Tampa, Fla. The performance was one of many that was in preparation of last weekend's Super Bowl. Michael also yesterday performed an acoustic version of "To Love Somebody" on KTLA's morning show.

>Amanda Overmyer performed her song "Lay It Down" on FOX 19 in Cincinnati yesterday. Watch the performance below:



The song is off of Amanda's debut album Solidify.

>Jordin Sparks appeared on Phoenix, Ariz.'s KISS FM morning show Johnjay & Rich on Thursday to chat about the Super Bowl and other things. Jordin agreed to thank the two radio show hosts if she wins a Grammy tomorrow. Hopefully both of the aforementioned happen.

Out today: Melinda Doolittle's 'Coming Back to You'

After many delays, Melinda Doolittle finally unleashes her debut album Coming Back to You. The album, which will be released via Hi Fi Recordings, is a dedication of sorts to the jazz and rhythm-oriented music of the past.

Also finding its way onto iTunes today is Jennifer Hudson's rousing rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Sunday's Super Bowl. Links to purchase the aforementioned can be found below:

Jennifer Hudson performs National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIII

If you're one of the seven people that are not watching Super Bowl XLIII right now, you missed Jennifer Hudson's performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. Fortunately, you can catch it below:



This was Jennifer's first public appearance since her family members were murdered last October. She will next perform (and most likely take home a handful of trophies ) at the 51st Grammy Awards on Sun., Feb. 8 on CBS.

Jordin sings National Anthem at NFC Championship

Just two days before serenading the president at the Commander-in-Chief Inaugural Ball, Jordin Sparks tested the waters with her rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at yesterday's NFC Championship face-off between her hometown Arizona Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles. Watch the performance below:



Unlike her deliverance of the Anthem at Super Bowl XLII, this performance was actually live and not lip-synched. The Cardinals went on to defeat the Eagles 32-25 and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII on Sun., Feb. 1.
