Although the Top 7 finalists didn't meet expectations last night when they tackled inspirational songs, Crystal Bowersox delivered the moment of the season when she went instrument-less on The Impressions' "People Get Ready." Needless to say, she does not need to worry about being in jeopardy tonight. As for the other six stars-in-the-making, though, Alicia Keys probably didn't do enough to advise them out of the danger zone.
With that said, read my predictions for how tonight will go below:

These three bottom three dwellers are nothing new, with the exception of Casey, and so tonight's elimination won't be too distressing. Since the Top 2 is pretty much set in stone as of now, it's all a matter of what order certain competitors leave. Mike, who should already be off this show, will make another appearance in the B3 but will escape by the skin of his teeth.
Casey, who up until now has been fairly consistent about not being in danger, will come the closest he has ever been to being eliminated, yet he'll stick around at least another week to deliver the same performance that Kara and co. have been being disappointed by.
And then Aaron will be the victim of "Idol Gives Back," as the show's youngest remaining contestant will be the most unexpected departee and no one will make a fuss over this. All in all a boring result for what should otherwise be a great night filled with giving and charity.
In my original predictions I had Katie going home 7th, which is definitely not a possibility.
Since the Top 24 I have correctly predicted 6-17 eliminations and since the Top 12 I have correctly predicted 2-5 eliminations.

IDOL LIVE Blog - Top 7 Perform (4/20/10)
As we have now reached the milestone known as "Idol Gives Back" week, it is only fitting that the remaining seven finalists get to choose from a list of select inspirational songs. And who better to serve as their mentor than Alicia Keys? It's a little surprising that none of Alicia's songs were available to the contestants for this theme.

Analysis: And so goes the Gokey
Well, that was hardly unexpected.
So Kris and Adam will square off in the finale next Tuesday. Not many would have predicted that back in February. It surely will be a fight, as Ryan stated only just over one million votes separated the top two vote-getters, which means there are a whole lot more Kris fans than anyone would have guessed.
Regarding Danny, he really went out with class. Not only did he sing the reprise of "You Are So Beautiful" with conviction and tenderness, but one could picture him singing to his wife, and he looked up to the ceiling as if he were looking up to heaven. No matter what you think of Danny (whom I think has got a really bad wrap this season from some), you have to admit he really wanted to be there and gave it his all each and every time.
The rest of the results show means little compared to the results, but we might as well take a look at what transpired tonight.
The show kicked off with a lame attempt at humor and shameless self promotion, as Ben Stiller and friends from the cast of Night At the Museum: Battle For the Smithsonian opened the show with a pre-taped video joking about the judges' table being honored at the Smithsonian. Hah, very funny guys.
After that speed bump we were treated to a performance by a little boy named Noah who came all the way from Rwanda to sing as part of a presentation done by Alicia Keys for the "Keep a Child Alive" foundation, which she is the ambassador of. It was an extension of last night's "Idol Gives Back" segment featuring Carrie Underwood. Noah sang well considering he learned the lyrics in English in only one week.
The other two performers were more experienced (well, one of them, anyway), and sang more recognizable tunes (well, one of them, anyway). Jordin Sparks was first with the debut of her new single "Battlefield," complete with an accompaniment by Ryan Tedder on the piano and a herd of shrieking backup singers. They literally ruined the stunning vocals Jordin was able to belt out. She looked a good 5 years older than she did when she one, and even lost a few pounds. Don't take that the wrong way, though, as she looked very beautiful and took command of the stage with the upbeat track.
Katy Perry, the night's other featured performer, was not as fortunate. She may not have had to deal with the atrocious backup singers, but she had her own share of showgirls and stuff helping her distract the audience from her awful singing (including Adam's name on on her cape...wooohoo...). As bad as she and her bug eyes were, though, I give her credit for singing live. That's more than what Paula can say...
As for the hometown visits, nothing really stuck out. Kris' emotional hug with his father was sort of an indicator that he was going to make the finale. When Ryan mentioned it as a "prideful moment," it became pretty obvious that he was going to advance. Danny's trip back to Milwaukee was sweet, but it seemed like him reuniting with friend and fellow Hollywood contestant Jamar Rodgers was not as sentimental as Kris' return home. Adam's hometown visit was probably the least eventful, aside from the whole girl-in-bra-rushing-the-stage incident, which sounded a lot more exciting than it looked on camera.
And that Ford video looked like it was done in Windows Moviemaker in about a half an hour. I understand the budget has shrunk compared to years past, and people aren't really concerned with the videos at this point, but c'mon, at least make it look like some effort was put into it.
As for my predictions, I was wrong once again with my pick for Kris to go in my pre-show predictions, and I was also wrong with my original prediction of Adam finishing in third. Oh well.
At the end of the day, tonight's events were pretty much inevitable following Kris' performance of "Heartless" last night and adding in Simon's nonstop pimpage of Adam, and the stage is set for a competitive finale. Or is it? The producers would like to make you think so, but I really think the whole "less than a million votes separated Adam and Kris" thing is them stretching reality in order to create a false sense of competitiveness. But we shall see.
In the words of Simon, it looks like we're gonna have a big ding dong next week.

Jordin spends her December in southern hemisphere
Jordin Sparks is currently touring with Alicia Keys in Austrlia and New Zealand for the month. In addition to being found running on the beach in New Zealand on an off day, below is video of her showing off Cable Bay:
Jordin has been getting alright reviews, as she is not the main draw on this tour for obvious reasons. Below is what reviewer Heather McCracken of Stuff.co.nz had to say of her:
Keys was supported by Jordin Sparks, who performed a sweet and very brief set.On the tour Jordin has been performing Michael Jackson's "PYT," which has been getting good feedback.
The American Idol success-story punctuated each song with a gushing: "Thank you guys so much," and then, "I'm so excited about this next song".
But her enthusiasm was endearing and her big hits - Tattoo and No Air - were well received by the youthful crowd.
Jordin also talked with Kate Rodger of New Zealand's 3 News about the tour in which she expressed her excitement of receiving a Grammy nomination for "No Air."
The tour wraps up in Perth, Australia on Sat., Dec. 20.

'Idol' odds 'n ends: Diana, Eric the Midget & Stern unite!
The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:
>It was a grand ol' time when Diana DeGarmo, Eric the Midget and Howard Stern all met together in Stern's studio on his Sirius satellite radio program on Mon., Nov. 3. This was the first meeting of the three all in person, and the first time Diana was able to respond to the incessant talk about her between Eric and Stern and his crew that has carried on for the past two years. >It was announced this week that the two-hour premiere of the eighth season of Idol (already?) will be Tues., Jan 13 at 8 p.m. ET. Can't wait.
>Carrie Underwood made the cover of Elle magazine for the Dec. 2008 issue. In the issue, Carrie apologizes for the comments she made about ex-boyfriend Tony Romo, saying she's "just not about drama...at all." Not to be outdone, Carly Smithson and Michael Johns had a photo shoot in the same issue.
>Justin Guarini will fulfill the token Idol alum on the third season of CMT's Gone Country. Following the shadow of Diana DeGarmo (Season 1) and Mikalah Gordon (Season 2), Justin will appear with such has-beens as Taylor Dayne, former Miss USA Tara Connor and George Clinton. The season premieres in January 2009.

Jordin to co-headline first tour

Jordin Sparks will co-headline her very own first tour later this summer alongside Jesse McCartney. The 19-stop tour will bring Jordin to her hometown of Glendale, Ariz., in addition to such places as Salt Lake City, Boston and Baltimore. Jesse mentioned the tour for the first time publically in an interview he did with Perez Hilton earlier today.
The tour will run from Aug. 5-30, and tickets go on sale on July 11 for the first six dates, and July 18 for the rest of them. This tour comes on the heels of Jordin's gig as the opening act for Alicia Keys' "As I Am" tour, which she wrapped up on June 18.

Jordin, Katharine to headline Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular
Both artists are keeping themselves busy this summer, as Jordin is currently on tour with Alicia Keys and Katharine is busy recording her sophomore album with David Foster while promoting her film The House Bunny, which hits theatres August 22. This is Jordin's second year in a row performing at the event, as she and fellow Season 6 alums Blake Lewis and Melinda Doolittle performed "God Bless America" at last year's event.
The live one-hour special will air at 9 p.m. ET on NBC on July 4. Other performers scheduled to entertain viewers are Natasha Bedingfield and Kenny Chesney.

Update on Jordin's condition
A spokesperson from Jordin Sparks' record label, Jive Records, said that Jordin will join Alicia Keys on her As I Am tour, which is already in progress, sometime in May. This comes after news that she suffered an acute vocal hemorrhage, and is resting at home in Glendale, Ariz., per doctor's orders.
Jordin was forced to cancel three appearances this past weekend, and will miss the 2008 Dove Awards and an Earth Day event that was to be held today on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Although early reports made it seem like damage to her vocal chords might be permanent, the Jive spokesperson said Jordin is expected to "make a full recovery."

Keeping up with Camile Velasco
After covering "Hangin' On" while signed to Universal/Mowtown Records, Camile performed at many west coast events. She left the record label in 2006, but continued to perform and even was featured in the Black Eyed Peas' video for their song "Bebot."
Camile posted a new song on her MySpace one week ago called "Open Up," which is possible a single from her upcoming debut album. She also has started a channel on YouTube called camileTV, and even covered Alicia Keys' "No One" in one of the webisodes, which can be viewed below.

Jordin cancels concert due to vocal hemorrhage
Jordin Sparks was forced to cancel her concert today at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pa. The reason: her vocal chords have suffered an "acute hemorrhage," which could lead to permanent damage if not treated, according to her doctor.
Jordin is currently back at home in Arizona. She was supposed to open for Alicia Keys beginning tonight in Hampton, Va., to kick off Keys' "As I Am" North American tour.
