Keeping up with Nikki McKibbin

Nikki McKibbin, Idol's original red-haired rocker chick, has recently kept busy on the reality TV circuit, ending up right back where her career started.

Nikki's run on VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew just wrapped up airing on Dec. 18, but she has already agreed to take part in a spin-off series called Sober House in which her post-rehab activities will be monitored with those of other celebrities that appeared on the predecessor in a "controlled environment." Other celebs that are slated to live in the house are Mary Carey (not to be confused with Mariah), Andy Dick and Rodney King among others. Sober House will premiere on VH1 on Jan. 15, 2009.

On the music front, Nikki put out her debut album Unleashed in 2007 courtesy of Chenoa Records. She released "The Lie" as a single and even filmed a music video for the song.

Nikki also has a track featured on the Idol compilation American Christmas, which was released Nov. 25. She can be heard singing "Alone with the Christmas Lights."

Keeping up with Amy Davis

Although she was the first semifinalist to be discarded during the seventh season of Idol, Amy Davis took everything in stride and has continued to pursue a career in music.

Even though the former Maxim.com "hometown hottie" was not able to make a memorable mark with her rendition of "Where the Boys Are," Amy is making an impression on fans of Christmas music by contributing her version of "The First Noel" to the Idol compilation American Christmas. The album will be out on Tues., Nov. 25 courtesy of Chenoa Records and EMI/Capitol and is available to pre-order on Amazon.com.

In the meantime, Amy has four covers up on her official music MySpace page including Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" and "Patty Griffin's "Heavenly Day."

On her MySpace she wrote that she is currently working on writing more material and has a video of her performance at Cinescape's "Christmas in August" celebration embedded on the page. Whether or not you liked her on the show, it would serve you well to check out what she's currently up to and how she sounds in the studio.

Keeping up with Alexis Stone Lopez

Idol's first season introduced Americans to many different talents, one of whom was Alexis Lopez, the perky, 17-year-old from Modesto, Calif.

Alexis, who now goes by her full name, Alexis Stone Lopez, has undergone a striking change since her debut in 2002. She now sports a black hairdo and is into rock music, as evidenced by two of her tracks on her iLike profile: "In the Path of the Fire" and "Don't Call It Love."

In June, Alexis recorded music with Season 7 finalist Amy Davis for a segment on the Canadian reality television series Reality Obsessed. The segment was filmed at MetroStudios in Los Angeles, Calif.

Alexis will have two tracks on the upcoming re-release of the Idol compilation album American Christmas. It will be released in stores nationwide on Chenoa Records/EMI Music Publishing on Nov. 25.
