It wasn't even close this week regarding IDOL LIVE's 2010 edition of the poll of the week champion series, as Brooke White easily defeated her fellow fifth-place finalists.
Brooke's 21 votes (46%) was a while 11 votes ahead of the next-highest placing finalist, as Season 8's Matt Giraud managed to take away 22% of all 45 votes cast.
The only other alums to make a dent in this week's competition of were Season 9's Aaron Kelly (15%) and Season 6's Chris Richardson (8%).
In the next round, readers will be asked which 4th-place finalist is their favorite of all nine seasons. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

Flashback: RJ Helton's "Superstition"
RJ Helton made it far in Idol's maiden voyage despite drawing fire from Simon Cowell on a regular basis. Although he wavered on a few performances, he also had a few good ones here and there. During Top 7 week, when the crew took on songs from the 1970s, RJ selected Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." Watch the performance below:
Although it wasn't his best offering, RJ gained notice for his dance moves. Maybe those were responsible for getting him through another three weeks on the show? Actually, probably not.

Poll of the week: Brooke's fans have high hopes
After a bump in the road in last week's champion series poll of the week results with a victory from Season 5's Kellie Pickler, Season 7 restarted its streak this week with a convincing win for fifth-place finalist Brooke White.
Brooke took home the honors with 28 votes, good for 52% of the total amounts of votes cast for the week. No one came even close, as the second-most voted for finalist was Matt Giraud, who was able to pull in 12 in all (22%).
In the next installment of IDOL LIVE's poll of the week champion series, readers are asked which fourth-place finalist is their favorite of all eight seasons. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

Keeping up with RJ Helton
Although it's hard to believe now, RJ Helton was just four places away from being named the first ever winner of American Idol back in 2002, as he placed fifth.
He started out recording inspirational music, as he released a Contemporary Christian album called Real Life in 2004, which sold roughly 20k copies and featured songs like "Even If," "Secrets" and "Come On Over," the latter two of which are currently on his official music MySpace page.
Back in October 2006, RJ came out to a SIRIUS radio station's morning show, saying he was no longer performing inspirational music because
"I can have a faith but can't be who I want to be. So a lot of it was just personal things I needed to overcome and just be proud of who I was. … Just because I am gay does not mean I can't love God."
RJ has most recently been participating in small Idol shows, as he performed at the Razz Room in San Francisco, Calif., back in August 2008 with fellow alums Trenyce and Julia DeMato, among others.

'American Christmas' set for Nov. 25 release
After testing the waters last November with an independent soft release for Idol Christmas compilation American Christmas, Chenoa Records is pairing up with EMI for the re-release of the disc with an expanded tracklisting and assortment of Idol alums.
The album will be released in stores nationwide including Walmart and Borders and is currently available to pre-order on Amazon.com. Below is the official tracklisting:

In the first installment of the debut album champion poll series, Kelly Clarkson's Thankful was unsurprisingly chosen as IDOL LIVE readers' album of choice from the first season's batch of alums. Thankful pulled in a whopping 75% of the poll's 60 votes.
Justin Guarini's debut self-titled album finished next, as its 9 votes (15%) was also good for runner-up. Tamyra Gray was the only other alum to receive more than one vote, as her debut album The Dreamer finished third with four votes (6%).

Rrazz Room roster revealed
A few weeks ago, IDOL LIVE reported on an "Idols in Concert" special that would take place at the Rrazz Room at the Nikko Hotel in San Francisco, Calif. Carmen Rasmusen and husband expecting
Carmen is currently starring in the "America's Favorite Finalists" show at The Grand Palace in Branson, Mo., with other alums Brandon Rogers (Season 6), Haley Scarnato (Season 6), RJ Helton (Season 1), Scott Savol (Season 4) and Vonzell Solomon.
Carmen told ReserveBranson.com that the most memorable aspect of being on Idol was the fact that she was a role model to many young girls:
“That has meant more to me than any amount of money or fame — to know that maybe I’ve influenced someone in the way that I’ve lived my life. Some people might say they don’t want to be in an example, but like it or not, we are in the spotlight. To me that’s the neatest thing,”
So which Idol alum will be the next to announce that she is with child? For the record, IDOL LIVE's money is on Juanita Barber.
