It was just another summer week on the Billboard Top 200 chart for the chart week of July 4 for entries by Idol alums.
Once again, Carrie Underwood kicked things off with her current album Carnival Ride coming in at #55 for the week, down two spots from the previous week. The album sold 9.6k copies for the week, up 2% in sales and has now sold 2.905 million copies in all.
The original winner, Kelly Clarkson, was up next with her latest disc All I Ever Wanted, which declined 8% in sales and slid #56-62. The album has moved 621.4k in all including the additional 8.6k it generated this past week. Kellie Pickler's sophomore CD Kellie Pickler was up by 14% in sales and 11 spots to #69. It sold 7.8k for the week and 249.1k in all.
David Cook's self-titled effort followed at #74, down two spots and up 3% from the previous week and sold 7.6k in the period. Its total now sits at 1.184 million. Another Idol rocker, Daughtry, saw its freshman album shoot up 23% sales-wise 12 spots on the chart to #89. Its weekly take was 6.3k and its total is now 4.473 million.
A pair of compilation albums featuring Katharine McPhee were also found on the Billboard 200 for the week, as Chris Botti's Chris Botti Live In Boston fell #109-118 and David Foster's Hit Man re-entered the chart at #197. The albums sold 4.9k and 2.9k and now have totals of 112.3k and 206k, respectively.

'Idol' BB 200: 'All I Ever Wanted' #21 (5/9/09)
There were declines to be found all around among Idol alums on the Billboard Top 200 chart for the chart week of May 9.
Kicking things off was Kelly Clarkson with her latest album All I Ever Wanted, which fell two spots to #21 thanks to a 6% sales decrease. It moved another 18.3k copies for the week and no has a total of 508.7k, marking official gold status. Next up was Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride, which sold 16.5k for the week, down 17% from the previous week. It has sold 2.805 million to date and was down #17-26 on the chart side.
Next up was David Cook, whose self-titled album took in another 8k despite sliding 12% for a total of 1.106 million copies. It fell eight spots to #55. And then there was Chris Botti's Chris Botti Live In Boston, which slipped #46-60 thanks to a 15% decrease in sales. It moved an additional 7.8k copies for the week and has now sold 69.2k.
Following 10 spots behind at #70 was Jennifer Hudson's debut album, which sold 6.9k copies and was 28 spots below where it was the previous week. It was down 26% in sales and now has a total of 714.1k. David Archuleta was up next at #110, up from #183 the previous week. David Archuleta was the only Idol-related album to see substantialpositive movement on the chart, as it was up 59% in sales to 4.6k copies for a total of 690k.
Kellie Pickler's Kellie Pickler slipped two spots to #133 with 3.9k copies, which was down only 3% from the previous week. It has now passed the 200k mark, standing at 201.5k copies. Daughtry's debut album declined #160-164 thanks to a 7% sales dip to 3.1k. It has now sold 4.423 million since its release back in November 2006.
And it was Mandisa and her Freedom that rounded out the Billboard 200 with 2.9k copies sold for the week for a total of 11.1k according to Billboard. On the chart side it was up three spots to #178 and stayed relatively unchanged percentage-wise from week to week.

HITS estimates: Kelly 41.6k, Carrie 32.7k
The ACM Awards and Easter had a lot of things to do with two Idol alums' sales gains in their respective albums on HITS Daily Double's Top 50 building album sales chart this week.
Leading the charge with a 23% sales increase was Kelly Clarkson, as her latest album All I Ever Wanted took in 41.6k copies for the week, marking a two-spot increase to #12.
Carrie Underwood was the other alum to see her album advance this week, as her Carnival Ride shot up 99% to 32.7k copies, which was a whole 17 spots ahead of last week's chart ranking of #32. This was mostly due to her big win at the ACMs and partially due to her album being a popular gift to fill kids' Easter baskets.
The only other two Idol-related albums on the chart were David Cook's self-titled album, which took in 20.9k with an eight-spot drop to #28 as a result of a 20% sales dip, and Chris Botti's Chris Botti In Boston, which was down 56% to 15.1k copies. The later fell #13-37 on the chart.
Final numbers courtesy of Billboard should be out by the end of the week.

Out today: George Huff's 'George Huff'
Season 3's fifth-place finalist George Huff sees his sophomore album released today. The self-titled gospel album, courtesy of Koch Records, marks George's return to the recorded music scene after releasing his debut album Miracles back in October 2005.
The rest of the listings in this week's post were released sometime in the past week. Chris Botti's CD/DVD live album Chris Botti in Boston, which features Katharine McPhee performing "I've Got You Under My Skin," debuted last Tuesday.
Also out one week ago was LaKisha Jones' new single "Let's Go Celebrate," which is off her forthcoming debut album So Glad I'm Me (May 19). And then there are two music videos: David Cook's "Come Back to Me" video and Kellie Pickler's "Best Days of Your Life" video, both of which were out last week.

Katharine McPhee's "I've Got You Under My Skin" airs on PBS
Katharine McPhee's performance of "I've Got You Under My Skin" accompanied by jazz artist Chris Botti from the concert she participated in at Boston's Symphony Hall back on Sept. 18-19, 2008, made its television debut last night on Pittsburgh's PBS affiliate. Watch the performance below:
Katharine looks and sounds as great as ever. In addition to airing on PBS in high definition throughout March, the concert will be sold as Chris Botti in Boston as a CD and a CD/DVD combo. It will be released on Tues., March 31.
