It wasn't even close this week regarding IDOL LIVE's 2010 edition of the poll of the week champion series, as Brooke White easily defeated her fellow fifth-place finalists.
Brooke's 21 votes (46%) was a while 11 votes ahead of the next-highest placing finalist, as Season 8's Matt Giraud managed to take away 22% of all 45 votes cast.
The only other alums to make a dent in this week's competition of were Season 9's Aaron Kelly (15%) and Season 6's Chris Richardson (8%).
In the next round, readers will be asked which 4th-place finalist is their favorite of all nine seasons. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

Top 10 most memorable Simon Cowell moments - Pt. 1
As Simon's run on Idol comes to an end tomorrow, let us look back on some of his most memorable moments over the past nine seasons. If you don't agree with some of them , feel free to offer your own lists.
No. 10: Simon calls a re-vote for no reason
Although the following clip is nothing special, it is emblematic of all the many mean spirited moves Simon pulled over the course of his auditions-judging sessions. In the clip below, Simon rejects the two Molfetta twins - twice, all "for sport" according to Paula:
Although sometimes Simon's comments went over the line, they were usually all in good fun. Hey, a judge has to have fun on this show or else it would be unbearable.
No. 9: Simon gets his way and still gets a hug from Paula
Simon and Paula had a long history over the course of the first eight seasons on Idol, with many of their encounters ending in sarcastic comments and witty comebacks. Back on Season 2, the two judges got into one of their most heated debates, eventually requiring the assistance of producer Nigel Lythgoe:
What made Simon the king of these arguments was his ability to come out victorious without looking completely undignified. As much as they both enjoyed each other's company, they especially enjoyed these opportunities to release a bit of steam.
No. 8: Simon doesn't roll his eyes at "Virginia Tech" mention
This one might be harder to remember, but back during Season 6 the tragic school shooting at Virginia Tech touched all Americans for a time. But when the story came up during Chris Richardson's post-performance bit, Simon's facial expression was taken the wrong way due to an unfortunate camera switch:
Immediately following the "eyeroll," fans were accusing Simon of rolling his eyes at Chris bringing up the tragedy because he thought Chris was clamoring for votes. That was, however, obviously not true, instead Simon was still reacting to Chris's "nasally singing" justification. A simple misunderstanding, no doubt.
No. 7: Simon apologizes for being hard on Katharine McPhee
There have been very few times over the course of Simon's tenure on the show when he's had to retract his critique after watching it back on TV. During Season 5's Top 7 results show, Simon apologized to Katharine McPhee for being a little harsh in his comments the previous night:
There have been other instances when he's backed off from his tongue lashings, just as he's come back with harsher critiques on some occasions after watching the performances back. But this one in particular was memorable.
No. 6: "Do we have a bigger stage this year?"
Simon is obviously known for his off the cuff quips at others' expense, and these usually come out during the audition rounds. But perhaps the most memorable instance of this happening was back in Season 5 when he joked about Mandisa's weight, asking after she received her golden ticket "Do we have a bigger stage this year?" Watch the moment below:
Later in the season when Mandisa came before the panel to hear her fate as to whether she made the Top 24, she confronted Simon on his comment, resulting in an honest apology from the Brit.

IDOL LIVE Blog - Top 24 Results (2/25/10)
After two nights in a row of very average, underwhelming exhibitions of performances in a long time. Even though things weren't off to such a great start, some of the contestants show a good amount of promise, and so it will be interesting to see if tonight's boots are deserving or maybe cut a little prematurely.
Also tonight we have performances from Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen, plus Kris helps us kick off "Idol Gives Back" when we see clips of his recent trip to Haiti.

Poll of the week: Brooke's fans have high hopes
After a bump in the road in last week's champion series poll of the week results with a victory from Season 5's Kellie Pickler, Season 7 restarted its streak this week with a convincing win for fifth-place finalist Brooke White.
Brooke took home the honors with 28 votes, good for 52% of the total amounts of votes cast for the week. No one came even close, as the second-most voted for finalist was Matt Giraud, who was able to pull in 12 in all (22%).
In the next installment of IDOL LIVE's poll of the week champion series, readers are asked which fourth-place finalist is their favorite of all eight seasons. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

IDOL LIVE Blog: Top 3 Perform (5/12/09)
Tonight, the competition ratchets up higher than ever before when Adam, Danny and Kris vie for the two spots in the eighth season's finale next week. Following the song choice drama this weekend, it will be interesting to see which songs work and, more importantly, which ones do not. The blogcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will last one hour.

Flashback: Chris Richardon's "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying"
Chris Richardson may have been compared to Justin Timberlake constantly while on the sixth season of Idol, but he definitely didn't sound like him. On Top 11 night, Chris chose to perform "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" by Gerry & The Pacemakers. Watch the performance below:
Chris did not impress the judges (and apparently the American public), as he ended up in the bottom two the next night. Simon even remarked that he had never heard the song before, which caught many be surprise considering the song was written by fellow Brit Gerry Marsden and the fact that Simon is, well, a big time British music mogul.
Regardless, Chris was able to propel himself out of the bottom rungs of the competition and mad it all the way to fifth place on the season. Even though it was not his best effort, "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" served as a pivotal moment on Chris' Idol journey because it showed a softer side of him.

'Idol' odds 'n ends: Brooke signs with Sanctuary
The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:
>It was yesterday announced by EW.com that Brooke White has signed with Sanctuary Records. And she has Randy Jackson to thank for that, because he introduced her to the label's CEO, Carl Stubner.
>A commercial for the forthcoming "Crush night" on Nickelodeon's hit show iCarly, which features Miranda Cosgrove, has begun airing on the network, in which David Archuleta is featured. The episode airs Sat., Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
>Jordin Sparks has been down in Tampa this week to take part in the second annual Jordin Sparks Super Bowl Experience, which is sponsored by Sparks Charities. The two-day event began Tues., Jan. 27 and featured performances by Chris Richardson and Jordin herself, as well as celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi.
>It was revealed this week by Melinda Doolittle in an interview with BuddyTV that she might perform on Idol this season. Melinda's debut album is set for release this coming Tuesday.
>It was announced on Monday that David Cook will be at the grand opening of the Walt Disney World's brand new "The 'American Idol' Experience" attraction on Thurs., Feb. 12, where he will perform live on ABC's Good Morning America. He begins his "Declaration" college tour the following day at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.

Gina Glocksen gets married
According to an article that appeared on the Web site, Gina and her new husband, Joe Ruzicka, exchanged vows to a standing room only crowd before the bridal party walked down the aisle to Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours," followed by Gina's escort by her parents to U2's "With or Without You."
No word yet on whether Chris Richardson or LaKisha Jones were able to attend the reception. The article states that Gina attends to return to Hollywood to serve as correspondent for another season of FOX Reality Channel's American Idol Extra.

Jordin, Haley to be bridesmaids at Gina's wedding tomorrow
It's going to be a mini Season 6 reunion tomorrow at the Naper Settlement chapel in Naperville, Ill. Gina Glocksen will wed her fiance, Joe Ruzicka, while Jordin Sparks and Haley Scarnato will fill two of the eight bridesmaid spots.
Gina had originally asked Jordin and Haley to fulfill the roles back during the Idol Tour last year, on which Gina got engaged to Ruzicka in Aug. 2007. Unsurprisingly, the two have kept their word. Gina is definitely appreciative giving the date of the wedding. She told The South Town Star:
"New Year's Eve is one day you can't ask a performer to take off."Jordin and Gina will also perform at the reception at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. As for other Season 6 alums that may attend, look out for Chris Richardson and LaKisha Jones to be among the 300 expected guests.

Keeping up with Chris Richardson
The sixth season's Justin Timberlake lookalike, 24-year old Chris Richardson, has been busy prepping his debut album following the "Idols Live!" tour last year. Chris, who placed fifth, released his single "All Alone" in March to iTunes via Chris Richardson Music/Combustion. The song is available to listen to in full on his official music MySpace page along with a 26-second clip of another track called "Guilty." No word yet on when fans can expect the album to be out.
"All Alone" was featured on the American Idol compilation promotional album Edy's Slow Churned Hot Tracks along with fellow alums like Nadia Turner and Constantine Maroulis.
Chris will next perform at The Canal Club in Richmond, Va., on Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. (fellow season 6 alum Blake Lewis will perform there tomorrow).

Analysis: Paula's seeing the future, baby!
In the moment of confusion seen 'round the world, whether it was on live television, audio stream or via IDOL LIVE, Paula Abdul suffered an embarrassment that will surpass her "fortune cookie" comment in Season 5 and her infected finger episode in Season 3.
Although it is true that Idol fans love Paula for her wackiness and would not want to see her replaced as much as they may complain about her, many are now questioning the legitimacy of this show. Yes, there have been many questions raised in the past about whether the show is rigged or not, but this time the media will be less than kind to Paula and the show's producers.
To start off, the whole layout of the show was a disaster and rushed, so that right there opened the door to a chance of a screw up. From backstage accounts by EW.com, it seemed the "firing squad comments" at the end of round one were either poorly planned, or not planned at all, so that added a hurdle for the judges, specifically Paula. Now, to start off her comments she said "Oh gosh, we've never had to write these things down...fast enough," which gives off the perception that she had written down the comments during the first five performances. But how is that possible when she was up dancing during a few of the performances? Besides, she had already written something for Jason Castro's second song, so that excuse does not stick.
Over the course of the show's seven-year history, there have been many tidbits released about the extent to which the judges participate in the dress rehearsals, and Simon was famously quoted as saying he "doesn't listen during the live performances" because he formulates his opinion during the dress rehearsals. But Paula is known for showing up late, sometimes only minutes before the live show begins. So unless she sat through the entire dress rehearsal last night, that excuse has a tough time standing up as well.
This leaves another option open: did Paula make write her comments before seeing even the dress rehearsal? Was she handed her note cards by Nigel or another production member? Or was it just an honest mistake?
Personally, I don't think it is a conspiracy. Sure, the show has seen its fair share of controversy and mess ups, but this instance was probably just Paula getting frazzled and confused at the change of schedule and she wanted to make sure she had something to say so that the five performances did not go by as a blur (as they did for most viewers). Her nerves got in the way and she tripped up, but I don't think it has anything to do with what is in her Coke cup. Still, the slip up was a huge one, and Ryan and Paula will try to explain away what happened with some elaborate story. If Simon's "eye roll" at Chris Richardson had to be apologized for last season, there is no way they can afford to ignore this.
And the fact that Jason had to go out there and perform a song he already knew he would be getting negative comments for was a little on the unfair side. He definitely did a number on his confidence, because his first performance was much better than his second.
But I think the real story here is how Paula tried to cover up her gaffe by saying her comments were for David Cook, and then saying he was "amazing." This was out of desperation after she knew what she had done, and was not thinking of what the media et al would say about her lame cover up the next day. It is understandable, but still unprofessional. She should have apologized to Jason, saying she had written down comments from the dress rehearsal and it would have been less awkward.
Again, it is up to Nigel as to what kind of approach Idol takes tonight in addressing last night's events, and hopefully he does the right thing. The show cannot afford any more of these situations if it wants to sustain its waning spot on top.

Keeping up with Phil Stacey
After receiving a free pass to an eighth week in the finals thanks to "Idol Gives Back" last season only to be eliminated the following week along with Chris Richardson, Phil Stacey has been actively pursuing a career in country music. The music video for the sixth=place finisher's debut single "If You Didn't Love Me" premiered on CMT.com on March 11, and the single is currently on its way up the country charts. You can watch the video below.
Stacey, who is signed to Lyric Street Records, is working on his debut self-titled album, and expects it to be released in April. You can listen to his single on his MySpace page.

Chris Richardson's single "All Alone" leaks
Chris Richardson's single "All Alone" for the Dreyer's/Edy's American Idol ice cream promotional campaign leaked recently. Richardson's vocals are nothing impressive and the production is pretty bland until the last 45 seconds of the track. To put it lightly, Richardson is not succeeding in differentiating himself from Justin Timberlake by releasing "Alone."
The Dreyer's/Edy's promotion begins this spring and features songs by past Idol contestants including Melinda Doolittle, Justin Guarini and Anthony Fedorov.
