IDOL LIVE Blog - Top 10 Results (3/31/10)

It's not too hard to believe that last night's exhibitions were better than last week's, but there's still no reason to keep 10 people alive in this competition. Thankfully, we get to say goodbye to someone else tonight, unless the judges screw it up by using their stupid save gimmick.

Tonight's results show will include performances from Usher, Diddy with his band Dirty Money and possibly T.I. (fresh out of jail) and NOT Ryan's best new buddy Justin Bieber as first reported, but Ruben Studdard instead.

To see who I predict will be leaving tonight, see here. Please feel free to add your two cents throughout the two-hour blogcast, with coverage starting just prior to 9 p.m. ET.

Tonight's blogcast features the music of Brooke White, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Ruben Studdard and Ryan Starr.

IDOL LIVE Blog - Top 10 Perform (3/30/10)

Tonight the Top 10 finalists try to recover from last week's embarrassing showing and turn to songs from the R&B/Soul catalog (they got to choose from around 100). Usher serves as the guest mentor, which is a few steps above who they had to turn to for advice one week ago.

Please feel free to add your two cents throughout the two-hour blogcast, with coverage starting just prior to 8 p.m. ET.

Tonight's blogcast features the music of Adam Lambert, Chikezie, Diana DeGarmo, Gina Glocksen, Jason Castro, Jordin Sparks, Kris Allen, Melissa McGhee and Michael Johns.

Keeping up with Jared Cotter

Season 6 semifinalist Jared "JL" Cotter failed to excite Idol audiences enough to push him through to the Top 12 with his take on Stevie Wonder's "If You Really Love Me," but the fact that he made it to the Top 16 was sufficient evidence that he had at least an ounce of musical talent.

Jared now works at the FUSE music network on its program You Rock, Let's Roll, which he co-hosts with All My Children's Chrishell Stause. The show is a variation of other dating shows, except it revolves around one music fan having to choose from three musicians without ever seeing them, only judging the potential suitors based on answers to various questions. Prior to hosting Roll, Jared co-hosted FUSE's staple show, The Sauce, which ended on May 22, 2008.

In addition to his hosting duties, Jared is pursuing a career in music despite not making it very far on Idol. He currently has three songs up on his official music MySpace page, led by "Injured Reserve," which is an R&B flavored ballad in the vein of Usher and Ne-Yo.
