The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:

That's right, Kris Allen made a special appearance in the video in which he's shown driving a a Ford Fusion Hybrid and he highlights one of the car's new features, which is CDs can be recorded in the audio system so that songs are available on playlists stored in the car. Watch the commercial below:

Also in the commercial is Kris's song "Alright with Me."

>Katharine McPhee performed "It's Not Right," one of her album tracks off her sophomore album Unbroken, on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday. Watch the performance below:

>Adam Lambert's music video for his current single "Whataya Want From Me" premiered on VH1 and MTV on Friday. Watch the video below:

The video was directed by Diane Martel and filmed on Dec. 20, 2009.

ABC replaces Adam Lambert with Allison Iraheta on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' cancels NYE appearance

It seems ABC has opted to enforce a network-wide ban on Adam Lambert. The network has canceled Adam's appearance on its late night program Jimmy Kimmel Live, which was set to air on Thurs., Dec. 17, and his invitation to perform a coveted slot on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve has also been withdrawn. This comes one week after the network's morning program Good Morning America canceled a scheduled performance by Adam, which was the first casualty of his controversial performance at the 2009 American Music Awards.

Instead, Allison Iraheta will be the beneficiary of this news, as she has been scheduled to replace Adam on the show according to a tweet from the show:

Coming up on December 17th we've got Allison Iraheta scheduled for a concert. about 1 hour ago from web
Adam confirmed the news, saying via his Twitter:
Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. :( don't blame them. It's the FCC heat. 25 minutes ago from Echofon
Adam followed the confirmation up with news that he will in fact be appearing on NBC's The Jay Leno Show, but no date is set in stone yet. Adam will be one of Barbara Walters' "10 most fascinating people of 2009," so he will be featured on ABC on Wed., Dec. 9, at 10 p.m. ET.

Paula stops by 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Just one night after co-judge Kara sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on his late night program Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Paula followed suit on last night's episode. She was her usual crazy self and did not disappoint. Watch the segment below:

So let me get this straight. Paula picks the two finalists that she thinks will make the finale at the beginning of the season, writes their names in an envelope and has it mailed to her at the end of the season to see if she's right? Is it that hard to just write a memo, or sticky note it to her forehead, or tie a string around her finger and remember who she predicted the old fashioned way? Oh Paula.

She also recounted a hilarious scenario when she was punked by Sacha Baron Cohen (a.k.a. Bruno) for his upcoming movie Bruno, and how her former publicist signed the release waivers not knowing what it was. Judging from the reaction Paula had when telling the story, it seems like it will be worth watching.

Kara on Kimmel, Randy on Fallon

The talk show circuit was hot with Idol judges yesterday, as Simon Cowell's episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show aired in addition to appearances by Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson on late night programs. Kara stopped by ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live where she talked about a misconception that she shaves her nose and what it was like to write a song for Paris Hilton. Watch the segment below:

She again said that it's still undecided whether or not she will be back next season, despite Simon already confirming that there would be four judges on Season 9. She also dodged the question that everyone always asks: who she thought was going to win, as Kimmel did not even go there in the interview.

Not to be outdone, Randy was on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to chat with the show's host. Watch it below (begins at 28:40):

Randy said it will come down to Adam and Danny and defended Adam against Fallon's "broadway" comment.

David Cook on 'Jimmy Kimmel'

It was such a busy week Idol-wise that you might have missed David Cook perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night. Well if you did, watch it below:

Cook was a good sport and "appeared in" the infamous video of little David Archuleta fans that threw a tantrum after the latter lost Idol. They superimposed video of Cook into the video, pretending that he was just as upset as the girls were that Arch lost. Funny stuff.

Katharine on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Katharine McPhee last night made her first appearance on the talk show circuit in support of her film debut in The House Bunny (Aug. 22) when she appeared on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live. The interview was particularly strange, as Jimmy was hung up on a story of Kat suffering a wardrobe malfunction will riding a dolphin on her vacation in Cabo, which eventually went places even Kat must have been surprised. Watch the interview below:

Jimmy also showed the now infamous clip of Tyra Banks feeling Kat's breasts on her talk show last year, which came out of nowhere. Kat did say that her sophomore album should be out in 2009, but did not divulge any specifics except for the fact that she is working with producer David Foster.
