The man accused of killing Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew back in October was formally indicted by a grand jury yesterday when he appeared in Cook County court. William Balfour, 27, is Jennifer's brother-in-law and is accused of slaying the three Hudson family members on Oct. 24 inside their Chicago home.
Balfour's attorney, Joshua Kutnick, said there is no case against his client, as he stated in court:
"The police believe it is William Balfour, but the problem is what they have done. They find their suspect and build evidence around the suspect. That's not the way it should work."Kutnick also asked that Balfour be moved to Cook County prison rather than the state prison he is currently being held in, but the judge delayed the decision on the request until Jan. 20.
There have been no comments out of the Hudson family regarding the indictment.
