Top 10 most memorable Simon Cowell moments - Pt. 2
After yesterday's bottom half of the Top 10 most memorable Simon moments, it only makes sense to finish off the list with the top half o the list.
No. 5: Kira Scott calls Simon "gay"
By Idol's third season, America was finally starting to warm up to mean old Simon. Then some loudmouth Hollywood contestant Kira Scott had to turn into a sourpuss because the judges weren't digging her style:
I remember this one exchange being used during this episode on every commercial break to keep people tuned in (not like the show had to work to do that back then). The way Simon handled this girl was first class and showed that he's not the high maintenance stuck up British guy.
No. 4: Chris Sligh plays the Teletubbies card on Simon
Simon isn't one to shy away from his past work, but there are some projects he'd rather not discuss if he can help it. On Season 6, Simon became visibly uncomfortable when Chris Sligh went for a low blow after Simon admitted he wasn't totally feeling his performance of dc Talk's "Wanna Be Loved" during Top 16 week. What added to the awkwardness was Ryan's reaction to Simon calling him "sweetheart":
Yikes, it's just as uncomfortable watching it back now all these years later as it was when it originally aired. C'mon Simon, you should be proud of you S Club 7, Il Divo, Susan Boyle, Teletubbies and any other concoctions you came up with.
No. 3: Simon correctly predicts Carrie's future
Carrie Underwood's Top 11 performance of Heart's "Alone" stands out as one of the single best performances ever delivered on the Idol stage across all nine seasons, but there was something that put the performance in a league of its own that night. Simon's gutsy call that not only would Carrie win the season, she'd sell more records than any other winner was really a stretch, but the fact that it proved to be true was even more impressive:
Although it can be argued Kelly Clarkson has sold more albums worldwide than Carrie has, Carrie holds the domestic record and will most likely pass Kelly in worldwide totals in the near future. This call will always remain as Simon's most impressive prediction as judge.
No. 2: Saula's affair (a.k.a. "the kiss")
It might not seem like that big of a deal looking back on it now, but the "Saula affair" spoof on the Season 2 finale was huge at the time because it was so unexpected.
Forget about the whipped cream, the strawberries and the lip-licking, that kiss was what sealed the deal. After all the drama Simon and Paula went through during their first two seasons on the show, it was one of those unforgettable moments that will live in television infamy.
No. 1: The eyeroll
You knew it was coming. The most memorable moment of all Simon's duration on the show came in Season 7 when Fantasia took to the stage and put America under a spell with her performance of "Bore Me" during the Top 3 results show, including Simon. It's funny to think a split second of confused expression could say so much about a situation:
There, doesn't that just cheer you up?
And that concludes the Top 10 most memorable Simon moments throughout his history on the show. There's always a chance that something he does tonight could earn a spot on this list, but one would be hard pressed to find a more memorable moment than the #1 entry above.

Anoop Desai says:Watching the AMAs. Waiting for this @adamlambert performance less than 20 seconds ago from Echofon
Jason Castro says:that was disgusting. eww 32 minutes ago from web
Chris Sligh says:Wow..I'm just replaying it. That was absolutely horrible. I'm sure there are fans who will absolutely love it...but for me it was top 5... about 1 hour ago from web
...worst performances I've seen on a tv awards show. Let's make it clear that I'm not dissing him as a person...I hope he does great, but.. about 1 hour ago from web
..everything from the vocals & dancing to the set to the dancers...I mean everything was so just not good..o and btw it was Dr. Luke not Max about 1 hour ago from web
but...one thing is for sure...people will FOR SURE be talking about that tomorrow. And that is a darn good thing for Adam! about 1 hour ago from web
I coulda done without the sodomy, kissing the keys dude, and the S&M crap. Besides that it was great. Unfortunately that's all there was. about 1 hour ago from web
Sorry...I'm just kind of in shock at how horrible it was. My hopes were high. I really wanted Adam to be the greatest artist ever. about 1 hour ago from web
After all that he added: I will however buy his album tomorrow...I'll let you guys know what I think...I'm sure it's great. about 1 hour ago from web
It's good to know former finalists can be candid about commenting on their peers.

>Josh Gracin posted a new vlog he did from his tour on his official music MySpace page, which he is currently in the midst of. The vlog documents what Josh and the guys in his band do before a show starts. Find out the answer below:

>The eighth season's finale was down in total viewership from last season's exciting final two episodes. Tuesday's Top 2 performance episode raked in 23.1 million viewers, while Wednesday's two-hour finale averaged 28.8 million viewers, including 40 million for the 10:00-10:07 p.m. time period, which places it as the second-least watched finale in the show's history (behind Season 1). 'Idol' odds 'n ends: Tamyra Gray in the studio with Ryan Tedder
The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:
>Tamyra Gray has been in the studio working on some material, though it has not been made public what the material will be included on. Last week, she made it known that she was in the studio with Ryan Tedder and The Runaways, which are top-notch writers and producers. Maybe a comeback is in the midst?
>A music video for "Touch My Hand" leaked this week days before it was used to accompany David Archuleta's performance of the song on Wednesday's Idol results show. It found itself onto the Asian video sharing site and can be watched below:
The audio is actually from his AOL Sessions performance of the song because, well, all the other files on YouTube have had embedding disabled by theofficialdavidarchuleta. The song is Arch's third single off his self-titled debut but does not have an adds date at the moment.
>Chris Sligh attended the 40th Annual Dove Awards on Fri., April 23, which aired on the Gospel Music Channel. He lost out in the two categories he was nominated for, though: the coveted Best New Artist and the Song of the Year categories.

On the honeymoon, she and her husband rented a red mustang and drove up to the Napa Valley for a few days. What an awesome chick.

Idol pulled in 24.2 million on Tuesday, 22.5 million on Wednesday and 21.2 million on Thursday.
>David Cook's rendition of "Billie Jean" was featured in a promo for the Israeli television series Loving Anna. Watch the spot below:

Chris Sligh writes Rascal Flatts' "Here Comes Goodbye"
Chris Sligh is expanding his credentials by writing for artists other than himself. The sixth season's 10th-place finalist had a hand in writing the Rascal Flatts' current single "Here Comes Goodbye," which went for adds at country radio on Jan. 20. Listen to the single below:
Chris talked with Alison Bonaguro of CMT.com earlier this week about the single, showing surprise and excitement upon hearing the news that it was a go:
"After [co-writer Clint Lagerberg] and I turned that song in last April, our publisher called the next day and was squealing 'You got a Rascal Flatts hold.' I didn't even know what that meant," Sligh said. "But then when Dann called in November, I was just freaking out.""Here Comes Goodbye" is the lead single off of the group's upcoming release Unstoppable, which will be out Tues., April 7.

Gina Glocksen: "Taking the Keys"
Season 6's ninth-place finalist Gina Glocksen connects with her inner P!NK on her new song "Taking the Keys." Posted yesterday on her official music MySpace page, the song was supposedly co-written by fellow Season 6 finalist Chris Sligh. In a blog entry, Gina said:
"I've just been through the situation too often where I'm out with someone, and they embarrass the hell out of me, so, I wrote about it! I hope you'll share it and let it be known that i'm NOT even CLOSE to being "done" with music. I'm here to stay and this is just the beginning!"The track actually has a catchy sound to it and might be able to do something if the right approach is taken with Gina's career.

Keeping up with Chris Sligh
Chis Sligh, the 10th-place finalist on Season 6, drops his debut disc tomorrow, titled Running Back to You. The curly-haired, opinionated Christian rocker tries his hand at contemporary inspirational music on Running, which is produced by Brown Bannister ( Amy Grant, Third Day). The lead single, "Empty Me," sounds like it could be a crossover hit on adult contemporary radio. "Empty" is currently sitting at #18 on the Christian AC chart, giving Chris his first Top 20 hit. It can be listened to in full at Chris's MySpace.
Aside from releasing an album since wrapping up his stint on Idol, Chris has performed at the 2008 Dove Awards with fellow alums Phil Stacey and Season 5's Mandisa.
Chris has also been known to stir the pot, as he created a controversy in late 2007 by posting about the breakup between eighth-place finalist Haley Scarnato and her fiance, Bobby, on votefortheworst.com. Although he said he was doing it to stick up for Haley, it came across to many as airing their dirty laundry, especially considering it was coming from someone close to her. The following is a sampling of the post:
"Breaking up with Bobby was the incredibly best thing that Haley could've done and knowing what I know, I'm telling you, there was no other option. And just so there's no confusion, Haley paid for the engagement ring...the ring Bobby bought her was a small, less expensive ring and after she got off the show, she bought a more expensive ring (I know that sounds bad, but I'm putting it into perspective - she bought it with her money).
Bobby was a jerk, and I'm being incredibly, incredibly kind by saying that"
Running Back to You will be available everywhere, and at Target for $9.99 beginning tomorrow.
