Keeping up with Kimberly Caldwell

Kimberly Caldwell's name has become a hot topic over the past two weeks, as the revelation of her budding romance with Season 7 winner David Cook has landed the Season 2 seventh-place finalist's name on front pages across the country.

The 26-year-old blonde-haired, blue-eyed country singer originally from Katy, Tex., has served as host of the TV Guide Network's Idol Tonight and its sister series, Idol Weekend, both of which go behind the scenes of American Idol.

Between performing at local festivals and her hosting duties, Kimberly has been working on an upcoming album that has been in the works for a couple of years. Three of the songs that will be featured on the album ("Who Will You Run to," "Gave Yourself Away," "Fear of Flying") are now on her MySpace.

Kimberly has also tried her hand at acting, as she starred in 2007's Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, a direct-to-DVD release and sequel to 2003's Wrong Turn.

Kimberly will next sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the LA Dodgers' game tomorrow night at 7 p.m.

David can do so much better than Caldwell. She is a D list former Idol. He needs to branch out and explore...instead of settling for the first pretty face he sees. He also needs to focus more on the music and fans...total image incompatibility. Most fans are disappointed in his choice to date her.

I was at the game tonight and sat like 8 rows behind her and David Cook showed up too!

Sad thing was two little boys wanted a picture and she said no, because she wan't working today. Ummm HELLO you sang @ the game isn't that work???

But David Cook on the other hand was terrific to his fans!!! Taking pictures and signing stuff all night!! Way to go David.

Ohh and when they headed out after the 7th inning his fans just ran to him and only then was she nice to them, because he was.

And her hair is wayyyyy tooo blonde!

Regarding the Nigel comments, I’m starting to agree with him.
Regrettably, hanging around with an airhead like Kimberly Caldwell isn’t going to get David any more personality from a fan perspective, that’s for sure! I voted for him (let’s face it, what were the other choices?), but he is starting to turn me off in the past few days with the Dodger game thing with the Caldwell girl. I am not the only one either. The blogs are going nuts and these things take on a life of their own, though the AI blog moderators have been deleting anything negative that is said about her. She is not well-liked in America. I find it difficult to believe that AI wouldn’t advise David to drop that woman like a hot potato, including “hanging out”. But then again, he is probably not listening. That is usually the demise of an aspiring career.
