7,000 hopefuls waited in line on Thursday as witnessed by The San Francisco Chroncile, which covered the first day of auditions for American Idol's eighth season, and published an article chronicling the event earlier today. The auditions, which were held at The Cow Palace, were full of potential Hollywood golden ticket-winners that had their own strategies of how to please Simon, Paula and Randy. Take Shatteo Harrel of Vallejo, Calif., for example:
"If you get here first, then they're not going to be tired of hearing people sing. By the time they get to the end of the line, I'll be home with my feet in the air and eating something I want to be eating."Auditions will be held in the following cities: Louisville, Ky. (July 21), Glendale, Ariz. (July 25), Salt Lake City, Utah (July 29), San Juan, P.R. (Aug. 2), Kansas City, Mo. (Aug. 8), Jacksonville, Fla. (Aug. 13) and East Rutherford, N.J. (Aug. 19). Season 8 will premiere in January 2009.
