The yawn heard 'round the world

So in case anyone missed it on Wednesday, Jason Castro was caught yawning as the camera panned to backstage as Ryan was about to send us to a commercial break, where he awaited his fate alongside Brooke White, Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson. Apparently it is a sign of disrespect or just downright rude to yawn during American Idol, as major news outlets picked up the story.

Although Jason's personality seems to give off a sense of unwillingness (more like a disinterest) to be on the show, in his defense, he would not have auditioned had he not wanted to be on in the first place. He may not win, but landing in the Top 5 is as good an outcome as anyone could hope for. But as for Yahoo! and those other newsertainment outlets, there are more earth-shattering stories to report on.

And Jason, it's alright. I didn't know a cat sang it either.
