The nominations for the 2008 American Music Awards were announced today, and three Idol alums could take home a trophy or two. The following are the Idol-related nominations for Daughtry, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood:

Favorite Band, Duo or Group - Pop/Rock
Favorite Artist - Adult Contemporary Music
Jordin Sparks
Favorite Artist - Adult Contemporary Music
Carrie Underwood
Favorite Female Artist - Country Music
Carrie has now received a total of seven AMA nominations, with four wins. Daughtry has now received a total of five nominations, with three wins. This is Jordin's first nomination for an American Music Award.
To vote for any of the categories, see ABC.com. Voting ends Fri., Nov. 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT. The American Music Awards will air on ABC on Sun., Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET.
