'Idol' odds 'n ends: Kelly Clarkson's "Finished!!"

The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:

>Following in the footsteps of David Cook and David Archuleta, Kelly Clarkson has announced that she has completed her fourth studio album. Word came last night via her personal blog, through which she has been updating fans. Of the album, Kelly said:

I finished recording my record yesterday woohoo!!! Can’t wait to get it mixed and mastered and y’all to hear it! I LOVE the record! So so happy
>Kimberley Locke was interviewed last night on Stardish Radio and Plus Model Radio, both part of the BlogTalkRadio network.

>A clip of Melinda Doolittle's first single, "It's Your Love," was leaked on YouTube on Tues., Oct. 20. It has been met with very little fanfare, in fact it has received mixed reviews.

>Michael Johns updated fans on his goings on in a blog entry on his official music MySpace page in which he talked of the possibility of releasing a Christmas song and that he will be singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Pep Boys NASCAR 500 in Atlanta, Ga. on Sun., Oct. 26. It will be broadcast live on ABC.

>Brooke White and Arch went shopping earlier this week. Photos are up on Arch's official music MySpace page.

Good news for you Melinda Doolittle fans! She’s set to release her debut album titled, Coming Back to You on Hi-Fi Recordings in January 09. Produced by Grammy-nominated producer Mike Mangini (Joss Stone, Run DMC, The Jonas Brothers), Coming Back to You was recorded with a team of live musicians in Nashville and New York City.

The first single, “It’s Your Love” will be released to radio in October.
