Cook's "Permanent" draws tears at FSU

David Cook kicked his solo tour off with a bang at Florida State University on Friday, where he pleased many fans with performances of both his original tracks and a few covers to boot. Things got a little emotional during his performance of "Permanent," which was written for his brother that has cancer. Watch the performance below:

Cook then went on to play at Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Ms., where he covered Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" and sang "Light On" among other songs. Tonight he takes on Ole Miss in Oxford, Ms., which should generate a great deal of reviews, fan footage and photos.

It looks as if Cook's tour is off to a great start.
