Digital sales roundup: "I Do Not Hook Up" #31 (6/5/09)

After two weeks of gigantic sales numbers for digital tracks by Idol alums (including the eighth season's crop of artists), it seems that things have settled down according to the most recent edition of the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart.

Kelly Clarkson was the default leader of Idol-related singles, as Kris Allen and Adam Lambert both witnessed their three entries that were last week ahead of Kelly's "I Do Not Hook Up" crumble by wide margins to way below the aforementioned song. "Hook Up" slipped 4% to 41.1k for a total of 369.3k, falling one spot to #31.

Next up was another Kellie, Kellie Pickler, to be exact, with her current single "Best Days of Your Life" at #37, seeing a nine-spot jump from the previous week on the heels of a 6% sales climb. It took in 33.5k downloads for the week and has now totaled 441.7k.

Daughtry was a few spots behind with its latest offering, "No Surprise," which was up #47-42 despite a 4% sales dip to 30.3k downloads. It now stands at 267.9k. Jordin Sparks, on the other hand, saw an increase in sales by 12% and was accompanied by a 14-spot rise to #69. The single, which is finally showing signs of life, saw another 22.7k tracks downloaded and can now claim a total of 147.3k.
