Following the untimely death of the "King of Pop," Michael Jackson, it is important that we honor the single biggest solo male artist of all history. It was just this past season in which an entire theme dedicated to his music catalog was included, as the Top 13 performed some of his biggest hits.

Although there were persistent rumors that Michael would in fact appear as a guest performer, mentor or judge over the course of Idol's lifetime, it never happened.
