Digital sales roundup: "Cowboy Casanova" #22 (10/24/09)

On the latest edition of Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart, a few tracks by Idol alums disappeared from the sales data made public public.

In the end, only two tracks from alums (both winners) appeared on the chart, with Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova" maintaining the lead despite an 18% sales dip. The single moved 53.7k downloads for the week, bringing its three-week total to 229.7k, but it was down nine spots on the chart side to #22.

Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone" was the other Idol-related track with sales readily available. The single was up 8% in sales after a downturn last week, selling another 47k for a total of 480.6k. On the chart rankings it slipped #25-26.

Noticeably missing was Kris Allen's single "Live Like We're Dying," which has been out two-and-a-half weeks and is most likely off the Hot Digital Songs chart.

Full numbers and chart positions courtesy of bks on Pulse as follows:

I just got Blake’s new album and if you haven’t heard it PLEASE DO! It’s excellent. The title track is one of the best songs from an idol ever.
