'Idol' BB 200: 'Carnival Ride' #45 (10/4/08)

Kristy Lee Cook nearly led all Idol-related albums on the Billboard Top 200 album chart for the week of Oct. 4, but fell just short. That title belong once again to Carrie Underwood, whose Carnival Ride posted a 1% increase to 10.6k copies, putting the album's total at 2.34 million. For the week, Ride remained at #45 on the chart.

Kristy Lee's post-Idol album, Why Wait, came in at #49 for the week courtesy of 9.6k copies, up from the four copies that were scanned in street date violations the previous week. Kristy Lee's numbers are fairly poor considering she placed seventh on the most recent season, but are respectable considering she is a new artist.

After a healthy increase last week thanks to a re-release, Daughtry's self-titled album reverted back to its normal standings, falling #36-52 with a 27% decrease in sales. The album took in an additional 9.4k copies, which brings its total to 4.23 million. Jordin Sparks was next with Jordin Sparks, which shot ahead 30 spots to #71 thanks to a 19% increase in sales with 7k copies flat. This brings the album's total to 917k.
