'Idol' Hot 100 - "Crush" #15 (10/4/08)

The effects of the release of David Archuleta's video for "Crush" were felt on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of Oct. 4, as the single shot up 17 spots to #15. "Crush" had regained stability in recent weeks after debuting at #2 in August, so this positive movement is good news for Jive.

Next up was Jordin Sparks, whose "One Step At a Time" dropped #17-19 but retained its bullet. Jennifer Hudson, who is now knowing on Top 40's door, saw her "Spotlight" continue to shine thanks to a minuscule single-digit rise to #41. Carrie Underwood's "Just a Dream" was right behind at #43, which saw a healthy four-spot jump.

As for Idol's resident rockers, David Cook slid #46-48 with "The Time of My Life," but his new single "Light On" will almost surely appear on next week's chart, if not the following week. Daughtry, on the other hand, saw its latest single "What About Now" stall at #55.
