Poll of the week: fans want their Arch deluxe

Considering the competition among Idol alums for the upcoming fall release schedule, it is a bit surprising that IDOL LIVE readers voted overwhelmingly in favor of David Archuleta's self-titled debut album for last week's poll of the week. But to put things in perspective, maybe it is not as surprising as it might seem despite being matched up against upcoming albums from Kelly Clarkson, Elliott Yamin and David Cook among others. Arch lost the champion poll to Cook by 65% only two weeks ago, so it is understandable that the Arch Angels were eager to make a statement on this poll. Hopefully the few disgruntled fans do not still believe the poll of the week is rigged.

Getting into the numbers, Arch's album took home 1,676 votes, or 64% of the poll's total. Although this tally is much smaller than the 22,075 votes he received in the champion poll, it is a resounding victory over the 797 votes attained by Cook in this poll. This equated to 30% of the total take.

Unsurprisingly, Kelly followed way behind with 110 votes. Her representation of 4% of the poll's total votes comes as news breaks that her album will most likely be postponed until February. None of the other Idol alums' albums guaranteed any sort of excitement.

In this week's poll of the week, we ask readers which Idol alum-turned Broadway star they prefer. You have exactly on week to vote.

David Archuleta - 'TBA' 1676 (64%)
