'Idol' BB 200: 'David Cook' #47 (3/14/09)

There were hardly any surprises on the Billboard Top 200 for the chart week of March 14 in terms of Idol-related content. The crew was once again led by David Cook. whose self-titled album fell #36-47 thanks to a 19% drop in sales. It sold 12.9k for the week and has moved 1.006 million copies in all, officially signifying the album's platinum status.

Next up was Jennifer Hudson, whose debut album rose two spots to #50 with another 12.5k copies sold. It rose 1% in sales for the week and has sold a total of 645.9k. Carrie Underwood followed with Carnival Ride, which also rose two spots to #61 despite selling almost exactly the same amount of units as the previous week. It increased by 9.7k, pushing its total take to 2.662 million.

David Archuleta's David Archuleta was down #82-88 with a 12% drop in sales, as it sold 6.9k copies for a total of 654.5k. Melinda Doolittle also saw her debut, Coming Back to You, slip in the sales department, as it decreased by 24% and fell 19 spots to #121. It has sold 30.1k in all after another 4.7k copies were sold this past week.

Daughtry's album followed at #139, down 10 spots from the previous week, selling 4k with an 11% drop. It has now sold 4.393 million in all. David Foster's CD/DVD combo Hit Man rounded out all Idol-related entries, as it sold 3.3k copies for the week, up 1%, for a total of 155.3k. It rose #187-169 on the chart.
