'Idol' odds 'n ends: Jordin rethinks working with Chris Brown

The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:

>Jordin Sparks was asked by Doug Elfman of the Las Vegas Review Journal whether she would ever work with Chris Brown musically again following his beating of girlfriend Rihanna. Jordin answered:

"I wanted to work with him on this new album, but I'm not very sure anymore. I don't think that would be a smart move right now," she told me. "I had actually gotten a song pitched -- I think two weeks before the Grammys -- that had him on it. But we'll see what happens."

Jordin was in Sin City to perform with Babyface Saturday night at the Star of the Desert Arena at Buffalo Bill's.

>A bunch of new songs have been popping up on the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers's database recently that have been registered to Daughtry, with one of them listing the entire band's membership as co-writers. These songs include "Sorrow," Standing Still" and "Moments."

>It was announced this week that Ruben Studdard would be the next Idol alum to perform on a results show. He will return to the stage to perform his latest single, "Together," off his upcoming album Love Is. He will be the third winner to perform on a results show in three weeks.

>Kelly Clarkson showed off her motor skills in Germany the other day when she got behind the wheel of a monster tuck and tried to collect handbags with it on the talk show Willkommen bei Mario Barth. It is probably the funniest thing she has ever done. Watch the spectacle below:

Kelly also performed "My Life Would Suck Without You" on the show, continuing her worldwide promotional tour for her album All I Ever Wanted.

>With only three U.S. dates left in his first-ever solo tour, David Archuleta garnered some positive praise from his March 17 show at the Glass House in Pomona, Calif. Peter Larsen of The Orange County Register wrote of the performance:

Most of the night focused on his debut album, from the current single, "A Little Too Not Over You" to "Crush," his first single, which shot to No. 2 on the charts after its release last year.

While confident in performance – Archuleta seemed fully comfortable fronting a solid four-piece band – his between song patter sometimes still revealed his youth.

"I don't know if you can tell, but this shirt is green, so you can't pinch me!" he told the St. Patrick's Day crowd, and suddenly he sounded more like 12 than 18.

Arch will travel to the U.K. to complete his tour beginning April 21 in Wolverhampton, and will wrap up Cambridge on May 10.
