Arch's "Crush" reigns supreme on iTunes

Since being added to the iTunes music store on Tuesday, David Archuleta's debut single "Crush" has had a quick ascension to the top spot. The song landed at #1 in less than 24 hours, one of the fastest trips to the pinnacle in iTunes history. In the past two days, Arch has been able to fend off the threat of Taylor Swift and Chris Brown, who are eagerly awaiting for their chance at #1 with their Olympics-themed charity singles.

Kristy Lee Cook, on the other hand, has been unable to crack even the Top 100 Country songs chart with her single "15 Minutes of Shame." This chart is relatively easy to place on, and like "Crush," "Shame" was added to the store on Tuesday. This does not bode well for Kristy Lee's career, although it does not help that there is no ad whatsoever promoting the single. Only time will tell whether "Shame" will in fact be a success story for her.

David has delivered with CRUSH an amazing first single to his fans, and the public. It is rhythmic, David's superior vocals soar and are identifiable throughout, has a catchy beat.. Hey-> I watched lotsa American Bandstand back in the day :)

His older fans like me find themselves humming along unconsciously, and the verses transport the listener back to those bygone days of school girl and school boy CRUSHES... It has an appeal across a very broad spectrum of listeners, and should effectively silence the detractors and critics who didn't believe he had mainstream appeal. CRUSH is the catapult for David to continue his growth and evolution as an artist - I ANTICIPATE MANY MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING MUSIC FROM HIM.
