In conjunction with CNN's recurring "League of First Time Voters" segment that will air during the network's coverage of this election season, Daughtry recorded a cover of "Feels Like the First Time," which will be used as the segment's theme song.
"First Time" was originally made popular by the band Foreigner in 1977. Watch the video below:
The band received positive feedback from Foreigner member Mick Jones, who said of the cover:
"Daughtry's version of the song is very cool and has more than captured the essence of the original. I am delighted that the song will be used in this critical initiative."The "Leage of First Time Voters" initiative will focus on getting new voters registered and educating them about the candidates and issues.
