Digital sales roundup: "My Life Would Suck Without You" #25 (4/17/09)

Although two Idol-related singles that previously had been on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart were able to make their way back onto it, expectantly sagging older favorites made up the majority of the chart for the week.

Once again leading the pack was Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You," which sold another 49.3k, placing its total at 1.696 million. It only slipped two spots to #25 on the chart, down 21% from the previous week. Kelly also saw her latest single, "I Do Not Hook Up," re-enter the chart at #139 for the first time since the week of her album's release. It moved 10.6k downloads for the week thanks to a sales increase of 49%, marking a total to date of 48.6k.

Another Kellie followed, as Kellie Pickler's "Best Days of Your Life" fell #34-35 in the face of a 6% dip in sales to 43.9k downloads. It has now sold 231k. Another country gal, Carrie Underwood, saw her single "I Told You So" take a 37% decline to 34k for the week, resulting in a total of 418.1k. On the chart side of things, it was down 15 spots to #46.

The last Idol alum to be represented on the chart according to numbers revealed this week was Jennifer Hudson by her single "If This Isn't Love" at #86, which saw an increase in sales by 172% to 19.1k following her performance on last week's Idol results show. Its total now stands at 103.1k.
