Digital songs roundup: "Light On" # 43 (1/9/09)

Songs continued their steady declines on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart as the industry attempts to stabilize post-holiday season. Although the two Idol-related tracks that remain on the chart posted similar takes for the week, it was David Cook's "Light On" that came out ahead.

"Light On" fell 35% to 37.7k for the week, slipping #39-43 with a total take of 524.4k. David Archuleta's "Crush" took a greater hit for the week as it fell #29-47 and is in danger of falling off the chart next week. It totaled 36.5k downloads for the week, which was 46% less than the previous week, and has sold 1.409 million total to date.
