HITS estimates: Cook 31.3k, Arch 13.7k

Following a two-week hiatus, HITS Daily Double has returned with its world famous music sales estimates. As expected, albums by Idol alums saw similar declines to the rest of the artists' albums now that the holiday season has passed.

David Cook was able to hold onto the lead among Idol alums, though, as his self-titled effort pulled in an additional 31.3k, marking a three-spot decline on the Top 50 chart to #16.

David Archuleta was the only other alum to have an album represented on the chart, as his debut came in at #47, down 25 spots from #22. It sold 13.7k copies in all for the week.

Finalized figures from Billboard should be out by tomorrow night.
