David Cook's older brother Adam, 36, passed away early this morning after a long battle with cancer. It was a brain tumor that was the actual cause of death. Per an article from EOnline:Adam Cook, 36, a lawyer, died early Sunday morning after an 11-year struggle with the disease, which had spread to his spine. He leaves behind his wife, Kendra, and their children.
Adam was referenced multiple times throughout the course of Season 7 and David's song "Permanent" from his self-titled album is dedicated to him. Watch David make the sad announcement at this morning's 12th annual Race for Hope in Washington, D.C.:
