Digital sales roundoup: "I Do Not Hook Up" #21 (5/1/09)

For the first time in many weeks, Kelly Clarkson's single "My Life Would Suck Without You" was not the top-selling Idol-related track on Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart. Kelly did, however, retain ownership of the title, as her current single "I Do Not Hook Up" continued its upward climb.

"Hook Up" was up 20 spots to #21 for the week thanks to a robust 64% sales increase to 48.8k, for a total of 127.1k with a bright future ahead of it. As expected, "My Life" was right behind at #34, down from #32 the previous week, and dipped only 8% sales-wise. It sold another 35.1k downloads and is sitting at 1.769 million to date.

Rounding things out at #42 for Idol-related tracks was Kellie Pickler and her "Best Days of Your Life," which slipped three spots for the week and moved another 31.1k downloads. It was down only 48 units from the previous week and has amassed its total to 293.3k thus far.

Next week should see a brand new track by an Idol alum burst onto the chart with a very good chance at grabbing the #1 spot overall, as Daughtry's "No Surprise" was added to iTunes late last night.
