Digital sales roundup: "Crush" #14 (11/15/08)

The representation of Idol alums was much healthier on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart compared to the previous week thanks to the CMA Awards and the release of David Archuleta's debut album.

From the album, "Crush" led all other Idol-related tracks once again, gaining 24% in sales with 72k for the week, placing it at 991.7k in total, just under one million as IDOL LIVE predicted would happen a week ago. It subsequently rose five spots to #14.

Arch also saw album track "A Little Too Not Over You" and upcoming single "Touch My Hand" make appearances on the chart, with the former debuting at #79 with 17.3k and the latter at #134 with 10.3k. Look for quick exits for both tracks next week.

As mentioned, the CMA Awards really helped the two Idol-related country entries on the chart, with Carrie Underwood's "Just a Dream" jumping 31 spots to #30 and Kellie Pickler's "Best Days of Your Life" debuting at #121. "Dream" sold 38.5k units for the week, up 100% from the previous week, for a total of 385.4k while "Days" sold 11.7k downloads up from 895 the week before. Its total is now 27.9k.

"Light On" also saw an increase in sales by 17% thanks to the launch of the music video and the anticipation of David Cook's album release. It sold 21.1k downloads for a total of 247.4k, and fell #67-71 on the chart.
