'Idol' odds 'n ends: Cook stars in Season 8 ad

The following are Idol-related odds and ends that happened this week:

>FOX launched a one-minute ad on television promoting the eighth season of Idol, which began running yesterday. The ad features David Cook and his "sweet dreams" of victory in addition to including a clip of "Light On" playing in the background.

>Four Idol alums will perform on the CBS Saturday Early Show tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Chikezie, David Hernandez, Diana DeGarmo and Kimberley Locke will perform a song from their Christmas concert that kicked off today in Milwaukee.

>Eight Idol alums will band together to tour the nation in the IDOL Mania Live concert series. The tour kicks off Sat., Dec. 6 at the Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Fla. On the tour will be: Blake Lewis, Gina Glocksen, Justin Guarini, LaKisha Jones, Melissa McGhee, Mikalah Gordon, Rickey Smith and Vonzell Solomon.

>David Archuleta's AOL Sessions were added to AOL Music on Wednesday. In his sessions he performs "Crush," "A Little Too Not Over You," "Touch My Hand," "My Hands" and You Can."

>Clay Aiken appeared on Rosie O'Donnell's new variety show Rosie Live on Wednesday, when it premiered with a less-than-stellar audience of five million viewers. In their segment they discussed "things they had in common."
